The Magician (humor)
by Clarence (Sonny) White Just 5 or 6 kids in early teens We stood in silent awe And watched the old man work his magic It beat all we ever saw It appeared he hadn't noticed us He was wrapped up in his work And when Billy Thompson sneezed out loud Why he didn't even jerk We had heard about him times before But had never really seen But this time we were actually there It was almost like a dream His large hands worked so delicately Like so many times before Then silently the cylinder turned And he opened up the door Seemed like it was only seconds Most certainly wasn't long The total job from start to finish He collected and was gone We later learned he was a Locksmith And friends I'm telling you We all decided right then and there We wanted to be a Locksmith too ( C ) November 2003 Clarence "Sonny" White Clarence "Sonny" White was born in Covington, Tennessee moving to Illinois at the age of 17.
