WHAT DOES LOVE HAVE TO DO WITH IT

Thought:  I’m sure a good share of us remember the movie about Tina Turner and the rough start she had in her career.

Love has everything to do with it.  Without LOVE this world would be a dark, depressive place to live in.  What is LOVE?  There are several definitions of love but the highest is the Agape LOVE that comes only from one source—God. The scriptures tell us God is LOVE.  His LOVE was demonstrated by his one-time sacrifice on the cross for the sins of all mankind giving man/woman the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life.  This was the ultimate act of LOVE.

I recently heard a testimony from a converted Satanist.  It was the first time in his life that he experienced a true, unconditional LOVE from four Christian friends.  He was full of tattoos and his appearance made many distance themselves from him.  It took four Christians who poured a Jesus LOVE on him that brought him out of the darkness into the light.  How many of us would give a second look or time to a smelly, ragged, bug infested homeless person begging on the street, to share the gospel message with him or her?  How about the spiked haired teenager, dressed in black?  Could we show him true Jesus LOVE?  Would we take the time to witness of God’s LOVE to societies rejects?  The recent shooter of all those children was brought up in a loveless home, emotionally abandoned. True LOVE comes from God because He is LOVE.  Here’s some scriptures from God’s word to look up and reinforce the kind of LOVE God has for you.

Show some Jesus LOVE to someone this week.

Prayer:  Father God, help me to allow you to love the unlovely through me. Amen

Verse:   I Cor. 13:4-7 “Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful, or proud, never haughty, or selfish or rude.  Love does not demand its own way.  It is not irritable or touchy.  It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong.  It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever truth wins out. If you love someone you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost.  You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him and always stand your ground in defending him.”
