First Place
by PamFord Davis

It seems we’re always on the go and most often in a rush.

No matter how busy the schedule; we have meals to eat and dishes to wash. I have a dish washer but use it only for storage. The majority of women likely prefer the convenience of an electric dish washer.

I guess that makes me a part of the minority because I like my hands in hot sudsy dish water.

So, I wash dirty dishes; that’s nothing new.

It’s the timing that’s changed. In the past, I waited until after our errand jaunts. Coming home to dirty dishes, I cringed. Household ants brought change.

The pests arrived at the onset of summer and I diligently fought them by washing our dirty dishes right away.

I make the time to busy myself at the kitchen sink before we leave home. Time has turned the task into a good habit; it’s now a priority.

First things first!

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you (Matthew 6:33 NASB).”

His kingdom and righteousness deserve first place.

Why do we delay?
