King's Delicacies (3)

Great Loss- Departure Of The Holy Spirit.

It is important to preserve your relationship with your Source of everything, that is the Holy Spirit Who is in and works in you and through you. Else, you will be left with nothing but ash of your past burning which cannot accomplish anything or your title which can achieve nothing on its own. By that time, you become a vehicle with beautiful body without a functional engine. What can such a vehicle attain? Nothing! Possibly it is good for disposal.

The position of a Minister of God is very important and carefully handled. You can be brought in contact with kings, Princes, Princesses and the Nobles. You have to be careful of their delicacies in all ramifications.

Many times, they ask you to eat but in their thoughts, they are not sincere. Their words contradict their thoughts. The book of Proverbs confirms this.

Not only this. When their words and thoughts are in alliance, you have to be very careful of being carried away by their meat and drinks. Be ever convinced that a Personality connect you together and your relationship with the Personality is the most important. Remember, it is the Lord by His Holy Spirit in you. Your bearing with Him, matters most.

Do you know that this is the truth that caused Daniel and his three other friends to refuse to eat their portion of the king's food given to them in the book of Daniel chapter on and in verses five to thirteen. This lead to his elevation and glory of the Lord.

However, this was not the case with a Minister of God who fell in love with the king's meals and drinks. He ended up doing the will of the king and telling him only what he wants to hear to make him happy so that he will not lose his portion of the king's foods and drinks. He doesn't care about his possible loss of relationship with the Lord who commissioned him and brought him to the palace.

This was the case with "the President of the Prophets", Prophet Zedekiah, who was in the company of his other colleagues totalling four hundred in number. They all spoke with one voice that king Ahab should go to a battle, not knowing that it would be for the king's destruction. They all prophesied lies for the king. Effect of the king's delicacies. Details are contained in first kings chapter twenty-two.

It was an "unacceptable" Prophet, Micaiah, who told the truth to the king in the presence of the other prophets. He gave a proper details of his true prophet which none of the four hundred ones could contest. In fact, his prophecy revealed the nakedness of the other Prophets by the words of their "President" thus,
"But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?" 1 Kings 22:24.

This Prophet and his colleagues did not know the way by which the Holy Spirit went away from them. What a pity! It was the way of the king's delicacies! They fed fat on it until they lost the most important Personality in their lives. They were alive and their position but they were dead spiritually.

Jesus triumphed over temptation by delicacies He will help all His Saints to pass also. The Scripture discloses,
"And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:3-4.
May the keep these in your heart that you do not fall for food in Jesus name. You will not be dead when you are still alive in Jesus name.
Consider your ways and watch your relationship with the Holy Spirit. Ensure that you do not join the multitude to grossly feast on the king's delicacies.
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Shalom!
