Conviction
by PamFord Davis

Suspects are apprehended, jailed and await trials.

If convicted, they are jailed to pay for their crimes.

The Holy Spirit will bring conviction to hearts of the spiritually lost.

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged (John 16:7-11NKJV).”

Conviction of the rebellious is followed by repentance.

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19 NKJV).”

Repentance of sin leads to forgiveness and eternal life!

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23 NKJV).”
