PSALM SOMETHING: (excerpt) Making Psalm 25 Personal
by Tonja Taylor

The LORD could have written Psalm 25 just for me.

In one way, He did!

He wrote it just for you, as well.

The Holy Spirit created each of us uniquely, and each of us has a unique relationship with Him.

Hallelujah!

He taught me years ago to personalize the Word--to speak it as if it was already done (for in Heaven, it is!)

That's the way I'm going to present it here. I use the Amplified Classic Bible, and insert my name and my loved ones, as He leads, or I say, "we" or "us" to represent me and my family and all those I cover in prayer daily.

Psalm 25: 1-5, 10, 12-14, 20-22, AMPC:

1 Unto You, LORD, do I lift up my life.

O my God, I trust, lean on, rely on, and am confident in You. Thank You that You do not let me not be put to shame or [my hope in You] be disappointed; You do not let not my enemies triumph over me.

Yes, I who trust and wait hopefully and look for You am not put to shame nor disappointed; let them be ashamed who forsake the right or deal treacherously without cause.

4 Thank You that You show me Your ways, and teach me Your paths.

5 Thank You that You guide me in Your truth and faithfulness and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You [You only and altogether] do I wait [expectantly] all the day long.

10 Thank You that all Your paths, LORD, are mercy and steadfast love, truth and faithfulness for us who keep His covenant and His testimonies.

12 Thank You, LORD, that You help me reverently fear and worship You LORD, and I You teach in the way I should choose.

13 I dwell at liberty and at ease, and my offspring inherits the land (because You are driving out my enemies from before me, and I go in and possess the land). (emphasis mine)

14 Thank You that You give me the secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of You, Lord, because by Your help, I fear (revere and worship) You, and You are showing me Your covenant and reveal to me its [deep, inner] meaning.

20 Thank You that You love and keep me, Lord, and deliver me; You do not let me be ashamed or disappointed, for my trust and my refuge are in You.

21 Integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for and expect You.

22 Yes, Thank You that You redeem me out of all my troubles.

If you read this--or any Scriptures the LORD leads you to, and think about them, and then read them again, out loud and silently, and ask the LORD to give you deeper insight into His matchless Word, He will!

I believe that, the more you get to know our gracious, truly awesome, loving, darling Daddy God, the more you will love Him, and want others to know Him!
