Spitting Image
by PamFord Davis

Who do you look like?

Most people say I look just like my Mom. I do have a nose like hers but it’s mostly Dad that I see in my face in the mirror.

I once had a total stranger walk up to me and say I looked liked Hillary Clinton. I understood the resemblance; our hair styles and eye glasses were very similar. Similarities are easy to explain but hearing I had an identical twin living in Ohio was quite a surprise.

Our daughter traveled to Ohio to a gourd show with my mother-in-law. When shopping in a grocery store they saw a woman who looked just like me.

A family friend once wrote in a letter that my brother was the spitting image of our Dad.

Family resemblances are common.

The most important thing is that we are created in the image of God.

“Then God said, ‘Let Us make mankind in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the livestock and over all the earth, and over every crawling thing that crawls on the earth.’ So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth (Genesis 1:26-28 NASB).”
