Clap Your Hands!
by PamFord Davis

Clap your hands.

That might seem easy but is it?

My husband and I work in radio and listen to a lot of music. Not long ago, we noticed that lots of songs include hand clapping in the background.

I had never realized how many. It must be difficult for several people to clap in unison. After practice, they work together and keep a steady beat. What are some other reasons for clapping?

We clap as a way of affirmation and approval.

At times, we clap our hands to get someone’s attention. It works with pets too.

Some people have learned the true art of clapping their hands. It could have started with a good school teacher.

Teachers said, Children, clap your hands.

Then again, the Bible says, clap your hands!

“Clap your hands, all you peoples;
Shout to God with a voice of joy (Psalm 47:1 NASB).”
