Our Behavior
by PamFord Davis

Acting out…

Most parents, grandparents, teachers and childcare workers need no explanation of the term.

I’ve never been a school teacher but do fall in all other above roles. I’ve seen children cry, scream and even throw tantrums on the floor. Through bad behaviors, they were working out emotions they felt inside.

As God’s children, we daily work out our salvation. He knows our hearts; others are watching our behavior.

“So then, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose. Do everything without grumbling and arguing,  so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world (Philippians 2:12-15 HCSB).”

God is not acting out; He’s acting on behalf of all who wait for Him!

“From ancient times no one has heard,
no one has listened,
no eye has seen any God except You,
who acts on behalf of the one who waits for Him (Isaiah 64:4 HCSB).”
