A Full House
by PamFord Davis

First… there was ‘Full House.’ (1987-1995).

Thinking TV viewers wanted more, ‘Fuller House’ aired from 2016-2020.

Scriptures give us stories about full houses too.

Jesus was teaching in the house.

“Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them (Luke 5:17 NKJV).”

Good news travels fast.

Friends of a paralyzed man brought him to see Jesus. Arriving, they discovered the house full. The crowd there revealed the men’s faith and fortitude. Out of necessity, the men went up to the top of the house. There, they broke thru the roof and managed to safely lower the paralytic.

“Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.

When He saw their faith, He said to him, ‘Man, your sins are forgiven you (Luke 5:18-20 NKJV).”

A full house pleases the Lord and Master.

“Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled (Luke 14:23 NKJV).”
