Think About Your Thoughts!

It all comes down to choices. As it has been said (and, of course, God said it first, in many verses in the Bible! Every good thing people use as a saying or motto is based in the positive, all-powerful, all-knowing, eternally relevant Word of the Living God!), (to paraphrase), "You determine your destiny by your thoughts, because your thoughts determine what you say and do. What you say and do determines your life." It is our job to purposely be aware of our thoughts, and verify whether they line up with the Word of God, the Holy Bible, or not. To do that, of course, we must know the Word. No one knows it completely, and it is a living Book; continuallly unfolding greater depths of revelation. Hallelujah! The Holy Spirit, Who is the Spirit of Truth, helps us understand what we need to know at the time. One thing He has told us is to choose life. We do that by metacognition--thinking about our thoughts, judging them, and discarding or ignoring the wrong ones, and focusing on and expanding the right ones. When we choose God's thoughts instead of those opposite of His ways, we are choosing life! I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;--Deut. 30:19, AMPC
When we choose God's way, we not only benefit our lives, but the lives of those connected to us!
So let us pray: LORD, please continue to help us be more aware than ever of our thoughts; to go deeper with you in Your Word, prayer, worship, and church attendance with Bible-based teaching, along with fellowship with like-minded Believers who want to advance Your Kingdom and live righteously. Help us to recognize and reject thoughts that are not pleasing to you, and be transformed as we renew our mind to Your Word, and take Your higher thoughts as our own.
We ask this in Jesus' Name, and we thank You for Your help. Amen!
