Jesus' Last Words, Thirst
by PamFord Davis

Jesus’ last words…

Think back to times when you were thirsty; I mean really thirsty. Maybe you’d been gardening, jogging or were fasting before surgery. Your throat was dry and your lips were chapped. You wanted and needed water to quench your thirst.

Jesus, Son of God; Jesus, the Son of Man had been beaten, flogged and nailed to a cross. Jesus, felt excruciating pain. He also experienced thirst.

#5 “After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst (John 19:28 KJV).”

God sent His Son as the perfect sacrifice. Jesus willingly gave His life to provide our salvation; the mission was completed. Jesus was finished.

#6 “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost (John 19:30 KJV).”

Jesus was obedient to His Father in life and death.
