Jesus' Last Words, Gave Up the Ghost
by PamFord Davis

Jesus’ last words…

I’m not a nurse or physician but have heard that not all people die peacefully. Music makes the dying process easier. Family and friends sing favorite hymns at the bedside of their loved ones. In recent years, the music of harps has also become increasingly popular and beneficial.

Jesus did not fight death; He defeated it. Jesus was prepared to meet His Father.

#7 “And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost (Luke 23:46 KJV).”

Man is made up of mind, body and spirit.

Jesus gave up the ghost; His spirit as Son of Man.

Years ago, I heard a very interesting segment on public radio. The speaker said that medical professionals were surprised to find that people weighed less immediately after they died.

Some believed the weight loss happened as their spirits left their bodies.

Jesus died in my place; He died in yours.

“No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again (John 10:18a KJV).”
