A Dangerous Replacement
by Olawale Ogunsola

Replacement is an exercise that is carried out by human beings in various ways, times, and forms. It is an easy task for any man to think of alternatives. Let me make this blanket statement that "Anything is replaceable". I think it is true.

Think of your possessions, if you choose to, you can replace any or all of them. Is that not true?
It is not replacement that is the problem but what will go with or into it as well as the final results.
For instance, a faulty electronic item needs to be repaired but you may choose to replace it for any reason. The item will not protest but who will bear the brunt if you replace it with a beautiful but inferior one?

Do you know that the same thing applies to the things of the Spirit? When you hear that someone is spiritually powerful, do ask, "In which realm of the spirit?" I think you need to so that you will not be involved in a covenant that will ruin you.

This was the case with King Jeroboam who replaced the Living God of Israel with various idols and images that could not save him and his people.

He went further to replace God-ordained Ministers of God (Priests and Levites) with ordinary people not fit for such assignments. He was happy doing that but he never receive any help from his gods.

When he confronted King Asa and the people of Judah in battle, he was put to shame, you can confirm this in 2 Chronicles Chapter thirteen from verses 7-19.

The Psalmist of Israel is right to say,
[4]"Troubles multiply for those who chase after other gods.
I will not take part in their sacrifices of blood
or even speak the names of their gods."

Do you want to participate or partake in the multiple troubles of those who chase other gods? It will not be to your advantage. You are only courting trouble.

My suggestion is that you decide to like the Psalmist in the above verse: don't take part in their sacrifices nor mention their names in your mouth.

Beloved, no matter what happens, it is dangerous and of no value to replace your Creator with anything or anyone else. All other things are either the work of God's hand or the works of men's hand. Do not leave the Creator to worship the creature, it has high risks. It ends up in destruction after this life. Ruminate over this and amend your ways. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
