Relationship Seasonings 2.
by Olawale Ogunsola

For a meal to be delicious, a Chef knows what goes into making it so. Certain ingredients are combined to make a meal appealing. They have to be combined in the right proportions so that one will not be more and another will not be less.

Do you know that the same applies to a relationship?

When you see a smooth and loving relationship, move closer and you will see that certain things go into it so. I am talking of truly loving and smooth ones; not those that are made to look so. They are many but are fake. They make their relationship "look like" all is well but they are not really in a happy union. This can be in marriage or any other form.

My Beloved reader, one of the Seasonings that should not be lacking in a sweet union is CONFESSION. No man is infallible. Everybody has his faults, weaknesses and can make mistakes. Nothing should be covered for too long. The Holy Scriptures counsels rightly in James 5
'[16]Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."

Every wrongdoing confessed will bring great relief; it may attract a sharp or mild reproof but it will be settled amicably. This is better than covering a wrong until your partner in a relationship discovers himself. The Scriptures admonish in the book of Proverbs 28:13 that whoever covers his sins will not prosper in anything instead of prospering in everything and be in good [3 John 2}. Why should you deny yourself the right to a peaceful and prosperous life?

Let me add here that when you want to carry out a confession, it will require wisdom and humility to attract the desired results. For example, it requires wisdom to know when and how to confess a wrong. A practical and convincing example is the confession of a Tax Collector in CHrist's provers contained in Luke 18;13-14,
[13]“But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’
[14]I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

As can be seen, what followed was justification.

My Beloved Reader, do you know that confession of your wrongdoing can restore your relationship with your God? Go and do so and you will be abundantly pardoned. A new relationship will begin to flourish between you and your Maker. Confession is of great value. it is an unfailing relationship seasoning, add it to your union and it shall be well with you. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
