A Change of Mind
by PamFord Davis

Sometimes I'm up; sometimes I'm down.

My emotions soar; my emotions plunge.

I can begin my day ready to tackle the world. By sundown, I find myself down in the valley of despair.

It’s a fact. Sometimes I'm up; sometimes I'm down.

Down or up… nothing takes the LORD by surprise.

He is with us when we sit in sadness or stand in success.

“Lord, You have searched me and known me.
You know when I sit down and when I get up;
You understand my thought from far away (Psalm 139:1-2 NASB).”

My attitude determines my position.

I can look up or down.

What will I choose?

It’s said that a woman has the prerogative to change her mind.

A change of mind is attainable.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things. As for the things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you (Philippians 4:8-9 NASB).”

Things are looking up.

I have the mind of Christ.

“But a natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. But the one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is discerned by no one. For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:14-16 NASB).”
