The Great Falling Away
by Rosalyn Johnson

As we look at the events of the hour and see how the bible is being fulfilled. I am reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul that before the end comes there would be a great falling away. II Thessalonians 2:3. I've often thought this only meant that some Christians would begin to backslide and walk away from the Lord. Although this is true, I've also discovered that Christians have fallen away from the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some have left the faith that was once delivered to the saints. Many are compromising the word of God with promiscuity, drinking, partying, and all types of fleshly sins.
However, what has troubled me most is that some Christians are questioning Is Jesus Christ the only way to God? Is hell literal or figurative? Does a person really have to be born-again in order to be saved? Is the Bible the Word of God? To address these deceptive tactics of the enemy, first, a believer must never compromise God's word even when they don't understand all the particulars. Jesus said in John 14:1 "I am the way, the truth, and the life no man comes to the Father but by me." Jesus spoke more about hell and money than any other subject during His ministry, let us not forget The Rich Man Luke 16. Jesus said to Nicodemus in John 3:1-5 that a man must be born-again in order to enter into the Kingdom of God. Lastly, I Timothy 3:15 declares that all scripture is given by God, in addition to this fact the Bible is the only book written hundreds of years ago by which you can compare it with the news events of today.
In order for Christians not to be deceive and tossed with every wind and doctrine, we must study the word of God so that we won't succumb to the deception of the wicked one.
