Opening His Gifts
by PamFord Davis

Have you opened the LORD’S gifts?

We don’t need to wait until Christmas. His gifts are hidden in Christ; not underneath our Christmas trees.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him (John 3:16-17 ESV).”

Abundant life and eternal life are gifts from the Son of God.

“I came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10b ESV).”

Christ’s commandments are gift wrapped with love and joy.

“If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full (John 15:10-11 ESV).”

Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

“These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you (John 14:25-26 ESV).”

But that’s not all; the Lord has given us the gift of His peace.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid (John 14:27 ESV).”

Why worry or fear?

Let's open His gifts and give thanks.

Have a blessed Christmas!
