Into the Storm
by Rik Charbonneaux

Like Hurricane Hunters or like emergency Snowplow drivers working into the night, we face into a storm of people coming by us each day who deny Christ. Rather than accepting the common lesser Gospel or no Gospel at all, we face that storm undetered with our devotion to Christ.

There was a time when Christians were the storm, as we pushed out against those bent upon our destruction with their fire, slaughter and spectacle, but we believers survived in numbers that spread across the lands. Yes, we were that storm until the present era, but now we recede in numbers more than we gain. In faith still we hold against the new storm of disbelief that plies against our ranks.

In this present era, I am in hospital often and casually speak of my Christian faith to the young Nurses and GPAs. I find the majority majority of these of Generation Z to be focused on the goal of their acquiring wealth and comfort, but certainly not focused upon their eternal state. Some say they were given a choice to attend church by their parents who had no faith in Christ and these young chose not to. Every once in a while one expresses an uncommitted interest in God and Heaven, but most base their personal view of God upon science.

Q. Like many of you, I will continue to face the storm of unbelievers in hopes that one or two will ask about Christianity and Christ. Can anyone lend me some advice?
