Old to New
by PamFord Davis

I’m fascinated by before and after photos. People share amazing final results. Dieters have lean bodies; car buffs have restored vehicles and home owners are the envy of neighbors. I look closely to see old-to-new transformations. Are you ready to leave your old life behind? New ways are on the horizon.

“But now you must also put away all the following: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and filthy language from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self. You are being renewed in knowledge according to the image of your Creator (Colossians 3:8-10 HCSB).”

Jesus’ image is forming.

“We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. For those He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers (Romans 8:28-29 HCSB).”

God’s Son makes all things possible; all things new!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come (2 Corinthians 5:17 HCSB).”
