I Trust
by PamFord Davis

Adventure awaits the brave in deep seas below. Underwater photographers have filmed divers and sea-life for documentaries; movie classics and television programs. Sitting in the comfort of movie theaters or our homes, we followed deep sea divers.

Some of these divers were trained scientists; they gave us a close up look at sea life of varied shape, size and color. The narrator pointed out coral and sea weed as cameras panned the scene. Other divers were risk takers in search of hidden treasure. Dangers were always anticipated by both divers and camera crew.

Predators such as sharks and sting ray are a must to avoid. Octopus put divers at a big disadvantage; a diver has only 2 hands to fight the enemy. The octopus wraps numerable arms with suckers around helpless victims. Divers had to stay alert at all times.

Am I alert and aware of dangers in my surroundings? The devil is my predator; is deadly and he is not always easy to detect. He must not distract or detour me from the LORD’S path.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB).”

Divers trust their helmets and weapons; I trust mine.

“Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,  and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17 NASB).”
