Play Time
by W. Yvonne Birnell

As I sit the children play
So my mind then starts to stray
Back in time it starts to go
Memories then start to glow

Deep in thought I now land
I see myself playing in sand
There is others there I see
Bro and sis, they play with me

Roads and tunnels in the sand
Built my us we think they're grand
We had cars and trucks - a boat
Made a place where it can float

Played for hours I do recall
Then for super Mom did call
Wash your hand and then your face
Come to the table we'll say grace

Then suddenly I hear a sound
Now I'm back and look around
Children laughing is what I see
May they build memories just like me
