Comfort From God
by Roger Jennings

In times of turmoil we need to be comforted by the grace of God, we should look to God for understanding, hope and encouragement. God know that it is hard for us to deal with certain things that come our way in life, death of a loved one, divorce, depression and abandonment are only a few. But all these things can be over come through faith and trust in God. God knows everything that has happened, is happening and will happen. Therefore God is the only one who can change them or their outcome. God may allow us to go through certain tragedies in life so we will become stronger in him, more depended on him.
God wants to comfort us in our time of need but often times we get so caught up in what is happening that we forget God. God cannot help unless we include him in our troubles. We must realize that we need special help and a comfort that only God can give and then we need to turn to God and ask for his grace and mercy. When we do turn to God things will start getting better and God will give you peace that is beyond all understanding, God does this out of love for his children.
Some people turn away from God when tragedy strikes, they want to blame someone and because there is no one else, God is blamed. People say things like if God cares so much why did he let this happen. Maybe he did not let it happen maybe we are the ones to blame. Maybe we could have changed the outcome by showing more love. In any case God still loves us for the good as well as the bad. [It is easy to blame and harder to accept things for what they are than look for comfort from God]. If you believe that statement then you need help from God. The truth is it is easier find comfort in God than to blame, all you need do is ask, pray for it and it will be given. There is nothing greater than the comfort received from the hand of God.

2Corinthians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
