Proud Sorrow
by Michelle Roufley

A dew drop at
the corner of my eye.
Turns to gentle rain
with a soft inward sigh.

I lift my head,
my face I won't hide.
I lift my chin
as a matter of pride

The clouds burst,
a flood coming down
In sorrow I'll swim,
but I will not drown.
