by Stacey LaMontagne Defeated Darkness surrounds me. I feel alone here. Coldness clings to my breath as I sigh deeply and lie motionless and aching. Sinful Battle lines were drawn. clanging swords flaming arrows blood stained earth confusion and helplessness Guilty Charred exhausted surrender peace Where am I? What happened? Is anyone there? Can you hear me? Searching Blurry eyes open seeking looking for a point of reference something to jog the mind clear the head of this fog. Awareness OH, no! Did I do that? Why did I let it out? What can I do now? Move I must move. Struggling Fighting Seeking Light I need light. Reaching Striking This flame burns so low. How can I see? I need more light. But, how? Yes, I hear it. Singing softly Fog lifting Tears staining Worship I will lift my voice to worship you my King for you are my God. Upon my knees at His feet light grows sight restored Hands lifted high strength returning wounds healing cleansing And He speaks Fires of sin brought you low Anger raged became inflamed Lives were charred. My fire purifies. I will burn away refine your heart make you new. I AM a consuming fire. Come to me surrender to my flames. Dont be a fire fighter. Let my Holy fire fall. Quench not my Spirit.
