Forgiving Others
by Nancy Quinn

"Whew, how many pills do I need to give her?" The vet handed me five bottles and a page of complicated instructions. Princess just got out of the doggy hospital with canine pancreatitis and for the next week we had to give her 5 pills before we gave her water and a prescription dog food. The special food must have been very unappetizing because our other dog Scooby turned his nose up at it when I dropped a piece on the floor one day. Princess dreaded the long process every day, but her brown eyes showed her trust and devotion to us through it all.

Just like Princess forgave us for putting her through all the strict instructions for her healing, it reminds me that I need to forgive others. From relationships at home, work, and yes, even church, we need to maintain our testimony and maintain a forgiving attitude.

If you're struggling with a strained relationship right now, I encourage you to pray for the other person and bring your struggles to the Lord in prayer. He will give you the strength to love the person even though they have hurt you. The Lord has forgiven me for all my sins, so the least I can do is to show compassion toward his children! And just like my pet's love is consistent and unconditional toward us, I want my love for others to be constant and to always show the compassion and love of Christ in all my words and actions.

Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

Romans 12:14 "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse."

Romans 12:21 "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

May God bless these words as I strive to encourage others in their walk with Christ. Please contact me if you would like to request a specific lesson that Lucy Mouse can teach your children or if you would like a coloring page to be sent to match the story!
