THE DAY IS UNDONE poem
by Richard L. Provencher

The Day is Undone

Clouds press against the furthest
sky, tree silhouettes marking
its border, llamas at peace
our ATV finishing nightly
fence-checking, cows at rest
Eeyore's bray mounts each strand
of poplar, their yellowish
leaves not so bright in
the twilight, dogs giving an
occasional bark and soon
souls at rest, coffee mugs
filled, cheese sandwiches await,
night has begun.
