Living Alone In A Crowded Bed
by

I used to be this way!
Didnt you?
Creeping out late at night,
Or someone creeping into my bed
Morning, I roll over to see what I had, and it is too late.
The scent of my sin committed lingers from mid-morning
I close my eyes for a short while,
And leave in a hurry.
Oh! How I cried many nights;
My pillow soaked with tears
My address book filled with people I dont trust or love,
Still, my loneliness wins me over
So, I call someone to cure my sexual appetite.
As I lay back and reminisce,
Never once do I feel guilty.
The next day arrives,
And near its end, my phone rings.
The tears stop.
Im thought about;
Im loved-not!
This feeling is temporary, just as the person in my bed.
Alone I live,
But crowded is my bed.
Im looking for something long lasting.
Im only looking for truth.
I live alone in a crowded bed.
A choice I make everyday until, today,
My body is worn, tired, and used.
My heart bared my choices;
Its healing now
My soul refreshed
I found love,
And unconditional love,
That no earth dwelling person could give-
I found peace of mind.
Peace within myself that is.
I found where I needed to be,
But now, where I want to be;
In His arms, wrapped up in His grace,
So in order for you to destroy me,
You must first unwrap Gods arms from around me!
I still live alone,
Just not in a crowded bed.

Dedicated to my AfriKan Prince

Authors note
Man, every time I read this poem I think to myself, this poem is deep. The title, Living Alone In A Crowded Bed is no laughing or joking matter. The poem speaks of how we live alone, but our bed is crowded. Full of lovers, and theyre just friends. Toward the end, some of you realize that this is not what you want, so you begin to put your faith in God. One man with one woman is the way God intended for us to be. Our bodies are temples and we should treat them as such. We fall short, when we let everyone have a turn at something that is so sacred. So in order for you to destroy me, you must first unwrap Gods arms from around me! is a quote by Pastor Nathan Johnson.
