Angels Attend Thee
by Stacey LaMontagne

There you are in your darkness.
Shadows of your past swirl all around your home.
Ghosts of by-gone choices loom in every corner.
Words, like knives, lie strewn on the floor.
Anger and depression whisper and torment you.
Bottles full of tears clutter your closets.
You wonder how much longer you can cling to lifes breath.

Here, in my sanctuary, my closet of prayer, I can see you.
My spirit witnesses the desperate scene and beckons me.
Heaven turns as I cry out for your freedom.
Angels, please, attend this broken child.
Help her now!

Now, in my spirit, I see a light,
a miracle ascends to you.
Oh, my sister, look up!
See, here it comes, wake up!
Reach out, just beyond your aching heart is a new heart.
Yes, its beautiful!
No more struggling for the next breath!
No more longing for, thirsting or hungering for love.
Your new heart is full,
full of love, life and beauty!
Dance, sing, laugh!
Light has come and chased away your ghosts!
You are beautiful and whole!

Praise be to God, our Father, Creator, and Lover!
