My Great Love Affair
by Shakera Reid-Stewart

He's been the only man that has always been there for me.
We are spiritually connected.
His creative style and compassionate heart
Leaves me always wanting to be near Him.
I ask Him to draw me close to Him,
Even when I'm in some kind of emotional uproar.
His arms are so large that He can embrace me, and all the problems that I have.
Sometimes I turn my back on Him and take His love for granted.
Most men would just walk away.
Not this man.
When I come back to my senses,
And realize that there is nothing and nobody to replace Him
He's still right there telling me to reach out to Him.
Nobody can make me feel as good as He does.
When I'm in His presence, my heart starts beating faster,
I feel as if I truly am in heaven on earth.
Having Him in my life gives me a great sense of peace.

He really is my multi-talented man,
He is my friend, he is my counselor, and oh!
Did I mention that there is nothing that I could ever want for?
Even if I think I need it, He knows it and gets it.
It's like our minds are in sync.
It seems almost so wrong to love Him above all else,
Parents, sisters, family, friends.
But my heart beats for and because of this man.
He makes me whole.
He gave me a gift that keeps on giving
He gave me love.
He gave me joy.
He gave me life.
He gave me trust.
He made me into a brand new person.

Does anyone have a love like mine?
A man so great can't be kept to one person,
And I know I have to share
But understand that nothing, or no one will end
My great love affair.
