The Marathon Runner
by boatrocker Gilmore

Who is the true winner in a marathon race?
Shouldn't it be the one, who overcame the most obstacles that he faced.

Many will cross the finishing line without any trouble.
While others were presented with challenges that were double.

The runners who finished faster and stronger indeed deserve a reward-let's not pretend.
But what about the ones who ran being battered and torn, crawling on their knees at the end?

They should receive a special recognition for their will to finish.
For if some winners faced the same struggles, their efforts would have been diminished.

Likewise, in the Christian race it is not given to the quick or the strong.
It is given to those who had many trials but through faith held on.

For the winners of this race, the criteria is reversed.
It is written, that the first shall be last and last shall be first.

Let us not live this life full of weariness and disgust.
For we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

Although you maybe one of the Saints who finish the race crawling on your knees.
Know that Our Heavenly Father sees your love for him and he is very pleased.

Prayer: Father in Heaven, let me not get discouraged because of the place in life I feel I'm in. Help me to see my life through your eyes and word and understand that with you the last shall be first. In Jesus name,Amen.
