A Dog Who Can Tell Time
by Nancy Quinn I hear the pacing starts around 3:20 each afternoon. Like clockwork, my golden retriever/collie named Scooby jumps onto the couch in the family room and watches out the window, his paws hanging over the edge of the couch and his ears perked for the sound of my car. By 3:30, he starts to get a little more excited and travels to the living room, vaulting onto the couch and voices his concerns to my husband. Yes, Scooby is a "mama's boy" and we laugh about how well he can tell time and somehow recognizes when it's nearing the time for me to come home. And just like my talented dog somehow knows when to start watching for my return each afternoon, I read the book of Revelation and am watching the many signs of Jesus' imminent and glorious return. And just like Scooby is watching for her beloved master to come home each day, I look forward to my beloved master, Jesus, to return soon for me too! Every morning is another privilege of potentiality to further God's kingdom with our testimony and witness. Won't that be awesome when you get to heaven someday to see friends, classmates, co-workers and family members there who you had witnessed to? Jesus is preparing many rooms in that big mansion in heaven. Let's be faithful in doing our part to help God fill those rooms with our faithful witness as we plant seeds of faith and love that the Lord will cause to water and grow in the hearts of all mankind. Psalm 96:13 "for He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in His faithfulness." Isaiah 66:18 ""For I know their works and their thoughts; the time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory." Matthew 24:30 "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory." Matthew 24:44 "For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.
