Costumes: The four fairy tale princesses should all wear pretty dresses, tiaras and jewelry. Hope should wear t-shirt and jeans.

Setting: Princess School

Scene: The four fairy tale princesses are gathered in the center of the stage, Hope is off stage.

Rapunzel:Did you hear about the new girl? She just moved into the kingdom the other day.

Sleeping Beauty: (yawning) I must have missed hearing about her when I dozed off in class. What's she like?

Cinderella: I think I know who you are talking about. I heard she is a bit... different. (stage whispers) I heard she wears clothes almost as bad as what I used to have to wear. Not a gown to be seen in her room!

Snow White: Snow White notices the door opening. Shhh... here she comes.

Hope: Hope enters, sits down on the floor and opens her Bible and begins to read to herself.

Princesses: Whisper to each other and finally approach Hope.

Rapunzel:Hello. Charity, isn't it? Welcome to Princess School. Have you had a hard time adjusting?

Hope:Looks up and smiles It's Hope, actually. Not really. I move around a lot.

Rapunzel:Of course! I knew it was one of those three.

Cinderella:Oh, that explains it.

Hope: Explains what?

Cinderella: Your clothes. Your gowns haven't gotten here yet. They're still being shipped, right?

Hope: No. This is pretty much what I wear.

Cinderella: Really?

Hope: Really. I don't need a lot of fancy things to feel like I'm someone special. God sees my heart. See, look at this. Hope points out a passage to Cinderella.

Cinderella: She looks down at the Bible and reads out loud. "Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." She looks up. You mean, I don't have to wear all these fancy dresses to be a princess? Or these uncomfortable (takes a shoe off) shoes?

Hope: Not at all.

Cinderella: Smiles That's great. Takes off the other shoe and tosses them off to the side.

Rapunzel: Brushing her hair. Well, we still have to be beautiful and take care of ourselves. My mother always told me that my hair was my crowning glory and what made me special.

Hope: She's close. See what it says here, "But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering." But (she flips a few pages while Rapunzel flips her hair again) "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight."

Rapunzel: Sets her brush down. Wow, you mean I don't have to take all day to do my hair and still be a princess?

Hope: Nods. Yup.

Snow White: So what do you have to do to be a princess? Resist temptation? She takes a bite from the apple.

Princesses: Snow! Don't!

Snow White: Snow White falls on the floor, asleep.

Princesses: Not again..... Eyes roll, laughter, etc. Hope shakes her gently.

Snow White: Coughs and sits up. I'm ok.

Hope: Tries not to laugh. Do you really want to know what you need to do to be a princess?

Princesses: Yes. Nodding and sitting down around Hope.

Hope:You have to be the daughter of The King.

Sleeping Beauty: But, we already are daughters of kings.

Hope: True, but are you daughters of The King of Kings?

Princesses: They look at each other confused.

Hope: Listen to this. She reads from her Bible again. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

She flips some pages and jumps up. And look at this! "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him."

See, when you accept Jesus as your Savior, God becomes your Father. Since He's The King of Kings, that makes us children of The King....

Sleeping Beauty: And makes us Princesses.

Cinderella: Wow. That is pretty cool. My step-sisters and step-mother wouldn't be able to make fun of me for not being a "real" princess, now could they?

Hope: Actually, it would be even better to share these truths with them, (looks to Sleeping Beauty)and your mom and dad and your step-mom, Snow.

Snow White: Really? Even... her? (makes a face like she ate something sour)

Hope: Really. Anyone can be a prince or princess when they choose to serve The King (points up), making us all princes and princesses.

The girls start to gather their things and move off stage.

Hope: Hey, Snow, do you have another one of those apples? It looks to die for....."
