Journeying
by Anne Linington Looking at the magnitude of the present problem Threatens to overwhelm me. But as I choose to raise my eyes and look toward the horizon I see beyond the shadows to a brighter sun-filled sky. Fixing my mind on the journey ahead I know that I will not remain in this stone-strewn terrain. Even through the approaching shadows I see new green growth Areas of fertility and fruitfulness, possibilities for productivity. At the tree-line I glimpse new prospects for community and worship. And in the far distance the bluest of skies beckons me on To continue the challenge of pilgrimage, Until I reach my ultimate destination. A meditation based on a photograph of Dartmoor's granite tors, Devon, U.K. I live in the UK, and attend an evangelical Church of England, where I am training as a Reader, (lay preacher).
