A Belated Welcome
by Diana Isham

I know it's late in coming
And I'm sorry that it's so
I wanted then to welcome you
When you moved here long ago.

I struggled deep within myself
To find the words to say
That would help you understand, my friend
You are welcome here today!

I thought of baking you a cake
Or bringing you some flowers
But I've had so many things to do
That I've filled up all my hours.

I'd like to get to know you now
I hope it's not too late
To get to know you neighbor
That to me, would be top rate!

Dear Friend,

If you are desirous of reprinting this poem I would like to make a special request of you...

I would be tremendously appreciative if you
would you please take the time to let me know where and what posting or publication you will be posting or publishing it in.

May God bless you with a wonderful day!

I am a lover of good literature and music and am a writer of such (or at least I try to be).

Among other things, I love to read and write poetry.

I love people, and hope through my writings and otherwise, to be an influence for good in the lives of those whom I meet and come in contact with.
