Amidst the Chaos
by Diana Isham Amidst the chaos of my life Amidst the turmoil and the strife Amidst the tempests and upheaval Amidst all pressure to do evil A wondrous gem within me lies Which worldly means cannot comprise. And only God can cultivate This jewel that none can imitate. Through peaceful whisperings deep inside Where Holy Spirit doth abide Within my heart when ere I pray For understanding day by day. 'Til witness of our Lord doth hold A lode more glorious than gold Which fills me with such wondrous light That I am lifted from my plight To lofty heights of knowledge pure That Jesus is my only cure!
