Vote for God
by Diana Isham

Some time back, through a series of articles, e-mails, and a political mailing, I came to the conclusion that I was barking up the wrong tree. I have also since recognized that I didn't have all the facts, and therefore regrettable mistakes were made.

My intentions were good and all -- but in my zeal to be a good American Christian, I unintentionally failed to focus on the primary source of my hopes and goals.

I had inadvertently omitted that portion of my convictions that motivates me do something to help save a small child from the vile reality of a Communistic Regime. Or to send out information regarding the 'truth' about Martin Luther King Jr.

Although these types of issues are important to me, something far greater lies at the root of these convictions...

It is my innermost belief that it is important to get involved, stand up for what I know is right and true, and this is why I get involved in anything -- politically or otherwise!
Not entirely for my own sake. Definitely not for personal gain or comfort. But for the sake of my fellow beings!

You see -- I believe in the separation of CHURCH and State. But I do not believe in the separation of GOD and State!

In saying this, I am not saying that I believe that religion should be forced upon us. Or that our elected leadership should force or expect us all to believe the same way that they do.
I am not even saying that everyone HAS to believe in God.

It is my personal conviction that God has a purpose and a plan for ALL of us whether we choose to believe in Him or not.

Unfortunately as a people, we have either forgotten or simply not understood, or outright refused to belive -- that God is the only reason we exist on this planet! That it was He who gave us the precious gift of life! That it was He who and in His own words stated:

'Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are...'

'This brings me now to what I am trying to lead up to in the first place...

Let's take a hard look within ourselves:

Who are we really?

Children of a loving God, whose eternal seeds within each of us, fill us with our own capability and capacity to design and create beautiful things?
Or basically mindless Apes who can do almost nothing but mimic what we see, follow primitive instincts and swing from tree to tree?

What Ape or primate do you know of that can design a well structured home? Imagine up a detailed wheel? Or even come up with some of the most primitive of tools for design and creativity?

What sort of explosion do you know of that can or ever has produced a perfectly structured wedding cake -- let alone a series of planets that can NOT perform any sort of function without perfectly set and structured laws to keep them moving in their orbital patterns?

Can or did Webster throw the alphabet in a bag and shake it up, to come up with the dictionary?

Where are we really going?

Are we at least trying to live up to the true potential within ourselves on a day to day basis? Seeking out the God given creative powers within us? Searching for our TRUE identities?

What do we really want?

Why?

What is our motivation?

Whom do we idolize?

Is it the God who said 'Come,.. follow me...'? And to his Father said: 'Nevertheless, not my will but Thine be done.'?
Or is it mindless role models who swing from 'tree to tree', following their own unbridled whims, leading us every which way but to the truth?

God Himself, in Deuteronomy 17:15, stated: 'Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the Lord thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.'

Is God still in the picture?

Or have we attempted to set up a means to justify our own irresponsible behavior through those elected officials, idolized sports hero's, or Hollywood trendsetters who would set up a standard of immorality for us to follow, who know nothing of the real meaning of Brother/Sisterhood?

Have we, like the children of Israel, rejected God as our exemplar and King?

He, who is the author and creator of our existence, is the singular source of inspiration for the Constitution of the United States!

How can we, like the children of Israel (see 1 Samuel 8:7), justify replacing God with those who will ultimately lead us down the path of destruction!

When will we ever learn?

History has a habit of repeating itself!

Have we forgotten why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed? Why Rome fell? Why Jerusalem was destroyed? Or the ultimate reason that the Titanic sunk?

Are we like those pompous ones whose vanity and pride led them to say in essence: 'Even God couldn't sink this ship!'?

Without God, we are on the road to destruction! Our ship is sinking and what are we doing to save it?

Banning prayer from our schools? Justifying our own irresponsible and immoral acts through our leaders? Teaching the religion of explosive chaos and ape-like behavior?

It is time for us, as the God created, intelligent beings that we are, to put God in our hearts and on the voting ballots!

Without this, our Constitution (which at this very moment is basically hanging by a thread) is lost, taking with it our God given freedoms!

Are we, as a proclaimed God fearing people, ('In God We Trust') going to stand by and watch this happen without standing up and making our voices heard?

I PRAY IT IS NOT SO!

It is my innermost prayer in all of our behalf that we as a people will stand united, with faith in our TRUE leader -- Jesus Christ!

Let us encourage good, honest, God fearing reliable individuals to seek out our political seats to TRULY represent us and our God given freedoms!

May God bless and unite us as lovers of what is truly free! This is my prayer, I speak it in the name of His Son and our true King -- Jesus Christ!

With Love and Sincere Prayers for us all, as Fellow Beings and children of God!
