Forbidden Fruit
by Heather Sargent

Lying in bed deep in thought in the stillness of the night, my heart skips a beat when the doorbell rings. Time stands still. It seems and eternity the two angels on my shoulder argue about whether or not to answer it.

I give in to the one and open the door only to be greeted by a shiny red apple, mouthwatering in its own right. All at once I forget myself and take a bite. Only as the juice begins running down my chin do I remember, this is not my apple.
