The Perfect Love
by Heather Sargent

I had a dream one starry night
I was walking down a sandy beach
Dreaming of a perfect love
It seemed so out of reach

I dreamed he was a believer
A provider, a friend and a lover
A protector, a peacemaker
And one like no other

He knew my every thought
And fulfilled all my dreams
He would hold me all night
When life came apart at the seams

Then I laughed at the thought
As the cold wind blew
There is no such thing as a perfect man
And that is when I knew

I realized what I longed for
Has been there all along
My Heavenly Father is this man
It is with Him that I belong.
