Laid Up
by Diana Isham Fly over to my window Little bird little bird, Fly over to my window So that I might see Your beauty and your splendor You are keeping hid from me! Oh lovely Robin Redbreast And tiny Chickadee Fly over to my window So that I might see Your beauty and your splendor You are keeping hid from me! I'd love to stroll the meadows Or just climb the smallest hill To watch the fluffy hoary clouds Reflect in ponds so still But I cannot for you will see I am laid up against my will. My body is not strong like yours I cannot lift a hand To brush away the floating dust That lights on my night stand Oh lovely Tufted Titmouse Your beauty is so grand! Lord, I thank Thee for the flower I see Sparkling with Thy heavenly dew. Help me hear Thy lovely Goldfinch Singing songs to match his hue Oh how blessed I am of Thee dear Lord, That my eyes can see the view! Dear Friend, If you are desirous of reprinting this poem I would like to make a special request of you... I would be tremendously appreciative if you would you please take the time to let me know where and what posting or publication you will be posting or publishing it in. May God bless you with a wonderful day! I am a lover of good literature and music and am a writer of such (or at least I try to be). Among other things, I love to read and write poetry. I love people, and hope through my writings and otherwise, to be an influence for good in the lives of those whom I meet and come in contact with. Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
