Come Away With Me, Beloved
by Darlene Casino

Come away with Me, beloved
To a place of innermost peace-
There we can enjoy a visit
And your many strivings will cease.
You days are very conflicted;
Your stress is at an all-time high.
You have felt the pain of others,
Whose lives and plans have gone awry.

The 'Enemy' is upon you
Taunting, and planting his deadly seeds-
Causing you to raise the question,
"Does God really know all my needs?"
You have sat before an alter
An idol, or a 'seers' ball,
Gazing at this world for hours
That is continuing to 'fall'.

You have listened to the empty words
Of those people who know not Me
Of broadcasters filled with darkness,
They're blind and they never will see.
All your peace you thus did forfeit
And your joy was in line to go,
Though loved by the almighty God
You've sacrificed your inner glow.

Come away with Me, beloved
And while we quietly converse-
You'll tune out the endless prattle,
The sounds of your loud universe.
You must cease your useless motion
The endless wringing of your hands;
Of chasing after happiness
And meaning from your feeble plans.

I have things that I must show you
And some songs you need to hear,
My words found in your Bible
That will take away all your fear.
There are fragrances of sweetness
And perceptions for you to sense,
Many strokes of loving-kindness
Which will be found in My Presence.

Child, withdraw from all your turmoil
It's for Me to give you rest.
Try walking with Me in silence
And see that I offer what's best.
Let My tender love enfold you
Remember My words that you've read;
Yes, truly I am in control
Now, calmly ponder all I've said.
