This Christmas Child
by Julie Seeto "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given " Who was this child, given to us? And where did He come from; why all the fuss? Why do we celebrate this humble birth? A babe in a manger brings peace on earth? The answer of course is worth more than the telling - The answer's a truth that is very compelling... The Great God of Heaven sent His own dear Son In order to save us, His will would be done:- He'd come as a babe and dwell among men And tell everyone of the Father in Heaven. He'd tell us how much from God we had strayed And give us good news of the plan God had made A plan that was set before time began, So great was His love for this mortal 'Man'. He would take our place when the debt was due To pay for our sins, take the guilt away too. So on Calvary's hill in scorn and in shame He hung on a cross to take all the blame - For all that we've done which offends the Lord And to grant us forgiveness and have us restored. To God be the glory, great things He hath done In sending us Jesus, His own dear Son. So as we prepare for this noble feast And wish one another great joy and sweet peace Let's spare a thought for the God of all glory Who's counted us in this eternal story.
