O, Heavenly Light
by David Pekrul

O, Heavenly Father, my heavenly light,
Please listen to me as I tell of my plight,
I'll tell of a season when I came undone,
By things that I said, which I counted as fun.

In moments of weakness I acted unkind,
For I was so stupid, so dumb and so blind,
Not thinking of others, I wanted my way,
And now that it's over, it's me who will pay.

I wanted attention; all eyes upon me,
I thought that my actions would be the right key,
To gain their acceptance, respect, and their love,
I know I was wrong, so I call up above,

And ask for an answer to what I can do,
To show them I'm sorry and show them it's true,
That I'm a new person, no longer the same,
And I am the one who accepts all the blame,

For things I have said and the things I have done,
That caused them such heartache, and loss of the sun,
From this day on forward I'll do what is right,
And look for forgiveness and heavenly light.
