The Old Oak Tree
by Verna Mull The old oak tree with lofty branches, Stands elegantly proud and tall, Rooted so firmly and so deep In beauty and real appeal to all! It started from a tiny acorn Produced by it's mother tree. As I look at it's stately presence, It produces great awe in me! That God in His wonderful wisdom, Was the origin of this great plan; To provide beauty, and, sturdy wood That could be used by lowly man! It's also a great object lesson Of God's desires for you and me, That we'd be rooted, oh so deeply, Just like that old oak tree! That we would grow deeply in Him In beauty for the world to see, And drop many little acorns of truth That others will plant their tree! Oh yes, there are many lessons If we only look carefully around, And practice what we see and learn, That God's work may really abound! For we are God's only workers That Jesus left here below To win the lost and the hopeless. His desire is that ALL should know! An elderly Christian who has learned to depend upon the Lord. He is sufficient to meet our needs in any circumstance of life. I only want to honor Him Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
