The Sunset
by Verna Mull The awesome splendor of the sunset, In its rosy, orange, crimson glow, Is a "have a great evening", From our God, who loves us so! As He splashes the bright colors, Over the gorgeous, evening sky, It reminds us one more time Of how He cares for you and I! Deep within our spiritual heart, And down to our very soul; It gives us courage to press on, To reach our heavenly goal, To labor for Him, to do our best, Loving others, as our days pass by. There'll be no need of a sunset When we meet Him in the sky! He'll greet us with a shout, The blast of trumpet sound, The whole earth will tremble When His feet touch the ground! Every knee will bow to Him then, But for some it will be too late! He's prepared a special path, To walk through that pearly gate! Forever with Him in glory, There'll be no darkness there! His sunset is just a reminder Of His glory we will share! An elderly Christian who has learned to depend upon the Lord. He is sufficient to meet our needs in any circumstance of life.
