The Message of the Angels
by Verna Mull Majestic songs of the angels, encompassed the earth, Announcing to lowly Shepherds, their Lord and Saviors birth, While the Christ child softly slumbered, in a manger filled with hay, And a star that shone so brightly, stood over where He lay! The shepherds left their sheep, to view the Gift from above, And knelt by baby Jesus, and all they felt was love! Mary still pondered in her heart, how could this thing be? How was her darling baby boy, going to set man free? Wise men came to visit, bearing gifts for God's own Son; Gold, frankincense, and myrrh, as they worshipped Him one by one! King Herod asked for a report, of just where this Child was found; But an angel visited Joseph, telling him to take Jesus to different ground. Yet again, at Herod's death, an angel came and spoke to them, Saying it was safe to return, to the place where they had been, Joseph stopped in Nazareth, still fearing for God's Son; Which fulfilled prophesy, " from Nazareth", Jesus would come. Through-out Jesus' life, the angels played their part, Preparing the way for Jesus, to reach deep in people's hearts! The message of the angels, brings hope for you and me, They prepared the Way, announcing the birth, of Jesus of Galilee! Yes, Jesus paid our price! What a wonder it has been, That Jesus would die for me, the most sinful of all men! There's hope for each and every one, no matter how sinful they be; Because Jesus died for their sin too, on the Cross of Calvary! An elderly Christian who has learned to depend upon the Lord.
