TO FRIENDS FROM MY PAST
by Verna Mull

There is certain sadness, lingering in my heart today.
I feel that a "special time" in life, has again, slipped away!

Re-living the past was wonderful and will always linger near;
But, the sudden stillness in my home makes me shed a tear!

Friends are far more precious, than bright silver, or than shiny gold.
The embers that have been re-kindled will never grow old!

Our fellowship, more precious, because the Savior we hold dear,
Who gives hope of a time of "no parting" as "our times" draw near!

I pray that we can reclaim "this" time, yet again, on life's road,
And enjoy the thoughts of forever, when heaven will be our abode!

For now, I feel a part of me has slowly slipped away,
And I'll dream of a tomorrow, when we'll have a few more days;

To again, re-live the precious times, of which I often dream;
'Till then, we have our memories, and on our Savior will lean!

An elderly Christian who has learned to depend upon the Lord. He is sufficient to meet our needs in any circumstance of life. I only want to honor Him
