SEEKING GOD
by

Psalm 9:10
And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Our Christian faith requires being in a relationship and friendship with God. Our God is not our adversary or our accuser. He's our Father, friend and brother and we need to seek Him in all things. We also need to be obedient to His word and trust Him with the obedience which naturally occurs from our relationship with God, our Lord and Saviour. Christianity is a committed relationship with the Father of our faith.

Most of us want a relationship with our earthly father. Why? We desire our father's affection and approval, and because he desires to lavish his love on us. So too our heavenly Father desires to abundantly bless us. He loves us. He cares for us so much that He was willing to die for us and wants nothing more than to forgive us.

Seeking God should be the desire of our heart: desiring His grace and His will. He created us to have a relationship with Him.

Jeremiah 29:13
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Father, I want to seek a relationship with you. Teach me truth and understanding so that I may know you as I ought. My desire, Lord, is to know you more. Amen.
