Provencher A Coffee For Milton Acorn Away from the crowd we gathered in downtown Toronto 1965 in a corner restaurant audience finished clapping one last time until another poetry reading tonight only time for talk with Ray Souster and Gwen you too Milton. You're gonna shine one day reddish hair aglow and salt-dripping words with surging Atlantic images pounding everyone. Right now this 23-year old kid is happy to buy you a coffee. He's sure you're going to be King of the Hill one day. Postscript: Years later I remember you well Poet of the Common Man and writer of "I Tasted My Blood." Just an 'unknown' in those days with fire in your heart and sword of truth running through busy fingers. Richard L.
