Young Then
by Marijo Phelps

I wish I weren't afraid
Yes, I still am
But 95% Less than before

I sometimes wish
I could be a savorer of life
Ignoring caution
Taking walks alone at night
Going on impulse
Buying more Corvair van dreams
And nomad summers

Sometimes I think
That it's just around
The corner, again,
Mine if I want it.....

If you only go one time around
Then isn't it best to hug,
Smile, jump and bubble?

Isn't it best to embrace, absorb
Savor, experience
And breathe it all in,
Sunny warm until
You burst?
